EXcell 231 placed in a bioreactor
For the sensors of the EXcell series, which are used, among other things, to determine cell growth, there is now an option for integration into a SiLA2 environment.
Using sensors from the EXcell series, the growth of cell cultures can be continuously monitored via absorption measurement. Due to the tried and tested and at the same time individual structure, the sensors can be used without problems not only in the laboratory, but also in the following production process. It goes without saying that it is suitable for CIP / SIP and autoclaving processes.
With regard to the integration of the sensor, the customer has various options. The Modbus protocol integrated as standard enables digital data transfer. An analogue 4-20mA interface with an additional switching output can also be used via an additional device. In addition to this, a software driver for the SiLA2 environment is now available.
SiLA is a global initiative with the aim of standardising software interfaces in pharmaceutical and biotechnology laboratories and promoting automation in this area.
The newly developed driver for the EXcell sensors resulted from the collaboration with the Fraunhofer IPA, which has great expertise in this area. The installation file required for integrating the sensor into a SiLA2 environment is now available on request.
