EXcell 251 and EXcell 261
With the new EXcell 251 and EXcell 261 sensors, Exner Process Equipment is expanding its tried-and-tested EXcell range for the optical measurement of total cell density. The colour-independent measurement provides a precise signal right from the start of cultivation and enables reliable measurements even at high concentrations of up to 300 g/l dry cell weight (depending on the medium).
Both sensors use a long-life NIR LED light source. The linear measurement signal can be output in arbitrary units, g/l or a customer-specific unit. Calibration is not required in standard operation. If necessary, the measurement can be adapted to specific process requirements via a customer-specific calibration. The measured values can be output via a USB interface, Modbus RS485 or 4–20 mA. User-friendly parameterisation is carried out using the free EXpert software.
The EXcell 251 can be installed directly into the fermenter’s cover plate via the PG13.5 process connection or adapted to the process via an Exner probe housing. The EXcell 261 features a G 1 1/4" connection (DN 25) for direct mounting on an Ingold connection. Both versions are designed for CIP/SIP and autoclaving processes and can therefore be flexibly integrated into a variety of process environments.
